In July 2025, YWCA St. Paul was honored to welcome volunteers from Thomson Reuters’ Black Employee Network and Global Volunteer Network for a day of service that left a lasting impact on both our facilities and our community.
The day began with a warm welcome from our CEO, Ashley Booker, who shared YWCA St. Paul’s mission and the importance of creating safe, vibrant, and supportive spaces for the individuals and families we serve. Energized by this shared vision, volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work on two meaningful projects:
- Restoring our community bike rack outside the Health & Fitness Center with a fresh coat of YWCA’s signature orange paint, a bright and welcoming touch for all who visit.
- Transforming the entry hallways of our transitional housing facilities from dark grey to an inviting shade of pink, creating a warm and uplifting environment for residents working toward stability and independence.
What may seem like simple acts of service have an immeasurable impact on the people we serve every day. A welcoming space helps restore dignity, provides comfort, and reminds residents that their community cares about them.
We are deeply grateful to the Black Employee Network and Global Volunteer Network at Thomson Reuters for choosing to partner with YWCA St. Paul. Their dedication to service reflects the same values that guide our work—equity, empowerment, and community. Together, we are building brighter futures, one brushstroke at a time.
