YWCA St. Paul thanks Xcel Energy for partnering with us again during their annual Day of Service. On September 10, an Xcel Energy team volunteered their time to transform the yard and playground at our Grotto property. We appreciate their time and hard work.
YWCA St. Paul thanks Kohl’s Woodbury for donating 5 boxes (close to 500 units) of beauty merchandise. The assortment of products, including makeup bags, skin care and makeup, will be provided to our Housing and individual participants.
YWCA St. Paul extends our heartfelt gratitude to Roundel™, Target’s in-house media company, for the invitation to present to the Roundel team. Deena Zubulake, YWCA St. Paul’s Director of Programs, discussed a variety of racial justice programs and opportunities at YWCA St. Paul, including the 21 Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge.
Rose McGee, owner of Sweet Potato Comfort Pies, and Bonnie Alton, owner of Great Harvest Bread Company in St. Paul, joined together to recruit volunteers to help bake and deliver 46 sweet potato pies to George Floyd Square, as George Floyd was 46 when he died. They then decided to make additional pies to give to families in YWCA St. Paul’s transitional housing program and to Ujamaa Place, an organization that provides holistic transformation for young African-American men experiencing inequity at the intersection of race and poverty.
