YWCA St. Paul wants to hear from YOU! We’re hosting a series of Community Conversations, each focused on a specific topic reflecting the serious consequences of racism.
This virtual community conversation will focus on homelessness and housing, how systemic racism has contributed to current challenges, and some of the work going on in our community to address this challenge. Please join us to learn more about this important area of racial disparity in Minnesota, and engage with experts and other community members on how we can drive change.
- When: Wednesday, Aug. 5, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
- Where: Zoom. Please register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUkdeirrTIvHdSFpapHFs0hyqXt1pX6KUGf
- Who: Join Dr. Yohuru Williams, Distinguished University Chair, Professor and founding director of the Racial Justice Initiative at the University of St. Thomas, and Gaye Adams Massey, CEO YWCA St. Paul, as they initiate a conversation around the role racism plays in housing challenges. We invite you to then participate in small group breakouts as we solicit your ideas and perspectives. We’ll all come back together to exchange insights and consider go-forward actions.
- What: This is the first in a monthly series of conversations designed to address the impact of racism on our community. Watch for details on upcoming sessions on our website.
Please join us Aug. 5 as we ‘open the door’ on a conversation designed to tackle the impact of racism on homelessness and help source real-life solutions.
