Girls Emerge Focuses on Healthy 2020

YWCA St. Paul’s Girls Emerge program is looking at a healthier and happier 2020 thanks to a $20,000 funding award from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota!

Girls Emerge meets weekly to give young women the opportunity to create community, affirm identity, explore careers, and promote social justice through a racial and gender equity lens. The program will be hosting several events throughout the year with a focus on exercise as well as fitness and nutrition education. This will also include identifying strategies to improve physical, mental, and emotional wellness courtesy of Blue Cross.

Funding for this series of events is provided by the Center for Prevention at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, as part of Blue Cross’ long-term commitment to tackling the leading causes of preventable disease: commercial tobacco use, lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating.
