Gaye Adams Massey

Gaye Adams MasseyGaye Adams Massey is the Chief Executive Officer of YWCA St. Paul, which promotes racial justice through education and advocacy, and supports women and their families through programs in supportive housing, employment services, and youth empowerment. It also operates a health & fitness center.

Prior to her role with YWCA St. Paul, Ms. Massey served as a Senior Deputy General Counsel for UnitedHealth Group (UHG), and General Counsel of its Ovations division. Before joining UHG, Ms. Massey served as Vice President & General Counsel for QualChoice Health Plan, was a senior counsel at Aetna Inc., and practiced with the law firm of Crowell & Moring in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Massey is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, serves on the board of Medica and the Alliss Educational Foundation, and is a trustee of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She is a member of the Ramsey County Workforce Innovation Board, the President’s Advisory Council of Saint Paul College, and the Partnership Council of St. Paul Promise Neighborhood.

Ms. Massey was named as a Black leader you should know by the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal in 2023. She was named to Twin Cities Business’ 100 People to Know in 2021 and honored at the 2010 Minneapolis-St Paul Business Journal’s Minority Business Awards. She has also been profiled in the Minnesota Lawyer for her commitment to pro bono legal services. 

Ms. Massey was named as one of the top 200 Black Leaders and one of the Top 10 Most Admired CEOs to the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal in 2023.
