From Surviving to Thriving: A Journey of Empowerment

When I first came to the MFIP program, I was in a place of survival—fleeing domestic violence and trying to rebuild my life from the ground up. Every day felt uncertain, and I wasn’t sure where to begin. That’s when I met Ronda Butler, my employment counselor, whose support became a turning point in my life.

Ronda didn’t just help me find a job—she listened, believed in me, and reminded me of the strength I had forgotten I possessed. Through her guidance with job readiness, resume building, and consistent encouragement, I gained the confidence to pursue meaningful work that reflects my passion for helping others.

With Ronda’s support, I found stable employment, regained my independence, and successfully transitioned off MFIP. Today, I stand not just as a survivor, but as a working professional building a future on my own terms.

I’m forever grateful to Ronda and the MFIP program for helping me transform struggle into strength and giving me the tools to thrive.
