Focus on Women in Minnesota

Please join us for our Equity & Justice Community Conversation on Wednesday, July 21 at 4:30 p.m. YWCA St. Paul CEO Gaye Adams Massey will be joined by Gloria Perez, President and CEO of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, in a candid conversation about the issues and challenges currently facing women in Minnesota, along with discussion of innovative solutions and activism centering on how we all can drive change.

The discussion will touch upon on the results of a recent joint project between the Women’s Foundation on Minnesota and the Center on Women, Gender, and Public Policy of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota on the “Status of Women & Girls in Minnesota,” which helps the Foundation to raise awareness and energize the momentum to shift attitudes, institutions, systems, and policies that will lead to greater economic opportunity, safety, wellness, and equal leadership for all the state’s women and girls.

Additionally, they will discuss the work of the Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota (YWI MN), a first-of-its-kind partnership between the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and the State of Minnesota aimed at improving equity and opportunities for and with young women. YWCA St. Paul is proud to host the Cabinet, providing leadership training and advocacy development to its members.

We look forward to this powerful conversation on women’s empowerment.
