Our Position & Purpose
At YWCA St. Paul, we take a clear and intentional position: building a community where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive. Our work is rooted in equity, dignity, and justice, and everything we do reflects our commitment to removing barriers that prevent people from participating fully in community life. We believe access is not a privilege — it’s a right.

Vital Work for Our Community
Our programs, events, and gatherings are designed to meet real community needs while centering those who have historically been excluded. From free public events to mission-driven fundraisers, to parter led collaborations – we create spaces where connection, learning, and collective care are possible. These moments are more than events — they are pathways to empowerment, healing, and shared progress.

Access at the Center of Every Event
Access is a common thread across all YWCA St. Paul events. Many of our offerings are completely free, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to participation. When we do host fundraisers, equity remains front and center. Ticket prices intentionally include the cost of a donated ticket, allowing a community member who wants to attend — but cannot afford to —  be part of the experience. This model reflects our belief that generosity and inclusion go hand in hand.

Equity in Action
By designing our events this way, we ensure that our mission is not just something we talk about — it’s something we practice. Every ticket purchased, every free event attended, and every shared space created strengthens a more just, connected, and compassionate St. Paul. Together, we are building community rooted in access, equity, and collective impact.
