YWCA St. Paul Statement on the Killing of Daunte Wright

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Daunte Wright, a 20 year old Black man, who was killed by police during a traffic stop. Our hearts are heavy as we join his family and our community in mourning his loss. It was painful to learn of the circumstances of his death, especially against the backdrop of the trial of Derek Chauvin. We join the call for justice and accountability, and we will continue to support the community during this terrible and traumatizing time.

As we offer support to others, we must remember to care for ourselves as well. We are offering new dates for free virtual restorative yoga sessions, which we hope will be a helpful addition to your self-care regimen during this stressful time. You can find information about these sessions at https://www.ywcastpaul.org/free-restorative-yoga/.
