YWCA St. Paul Honored with Nonprofit Mission Award Category of Anti-Racism Initiative

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) selected YWCA St. Paul as the recipient of the 2021 Nonprofit Mission Award in the category of Anti-Racism Initiative.

“We were told that the voting was very close in all of the categories—so it is exciting that our nomination rose to the top in the eyes of MCN members,” said Gaye Adams Massey, Chief Executive Officer. “Racial justice has always been at the core of our mission and work in the community and it’s wonderful to receive this recognition of our effort and impact.”

In recognition of the award, YWCA St. Paul will be featured in the MCN’s Nonprofit News, Annual Conference and social media channels. YWCA St. Paul will also receive an art glass award and $2,500 in cash.

“Thanks again to everyone who cast a vote for us,” said Massey. “We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to our racial justice work in the community. And thanks to YWCA St. Paul board and staff for the important work that they do every day to advance our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.”
