We’re All in This Together

As a result of COVID-19, we’ve seen the temporary closing of educational institutions and organizations, as well as recreational entities, resulting in limited capacity and declining motivation to do much professionally or socially. There is also high stress, anxiety and uncertainty about the future – we feel it too!

There are so many unknowns, causing ambiguity and indifference and leaving us with more questions than answers: Will there still be a graduation ceremony? Will that great internship fall through? Will I be able to attend college in the fall?  Although these questions remain unanswered, we intend to maintain forward momentum, accomplishing goals and navigating through barriers and we want you to be able to do the same.

As our challenge to you, please reflect and respond to one of the prompts below:

  • Take a picture of yourself as you are in this moment and reflect on the question, “How does my heart feel today?” Then begin to write, draw, doodle – however you like to express yourself – and let your stream of consciousness flow with whatever comes to mind.
  • Jot down 2-3 short-term goals and write yourself a promise letter committing to fulfill those goals. Sign, date, and post it in a place that you can access every day.
  • Create your own notes of affirmation (a statement of encouragement) for daily inspiration.

We wish you health, happiness, and gratitude while you take things one day at a time.
We will get through these complex times together – with love, patience and kindness.

We also want to know, how are you feeling? We want to hear from our readers and have this question for you: What is bringing you joy during this time of social distancing? Try to answer this question with all five senses and let us know on Facebook!
