Health & Wellness

Health & Fitness center memberships at YWCA St. Paul grant unlimited access to the Health & Fitness Center’s cardio and strength training equipment, pool, sauna and group fitness classes. Youth Development

Young people in our Youth Development programs create positive relationships with peers and staff to develop the skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom, workplace and community. We offer young people a strong start for building bright futures.

  • Girls Emerge is a program that gives young women the opportunity to create community, affirm identity, explore careers, and promote social justice through a racial and gender equity lens. YWCA St. Paul contact: Deena Zubulake, Director of Programs, at DZubulake@ywcastpaul.org.
  • YW Stride helps young women of color ages 18–24 who are transitioning from foster care by helping them secure stable housing and navigate relationships, resources and systems. YWCA St. Paul contact: Holly Marshall, Youth Transitions Coach, at HMarshall@ywcastpaul.org.
  • Youth Employment Services helps young people ages 16–24 explore potential career paths by providing paid experiential learning opportunities to gain first-hand knowledge and experience in their career field of interest for up to 12 weeks. Employment & Economic Development

Our Employment & Economic Development programs help people build professional skills and overcome barriers to employment to enhance self-sufficiency. By providing education and support, our employment programs guide individuals to meaningful, sustainable employment with thriving wages.

  • Career Pathways provides customized services and ongoing support focused on helping participants overcome barriers to obtaining and sustaining employment. YWCA St. Paul contact: Pierre Rhodes, Career Pathways Program Manager, at prhodes@ywcastpaul.org.
  • As a contractor of Workforce Solutions, a department of Ramsey County, YWCA St. Paul delivers culturally specific employment services for African Americans participating in the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) through its YW Works (YWW) program. Advancing Racial Justice

YWCA St. Paul advances racial justice through education and advocacy in the community, by working with organizations seeking to build equity, and through programs focused on breaking down barriers in areas of significant racial and gender disparity. Our racial justice initiatives promote increased understanding and equip community members to fight racism and advocate for social justice.

Housing & Supportive Services

Our range of housing programs combine affordable housing with customized support services that help participants stabilize their lives, build new career, academic and parenting skills, connect to community and secure a future of safe, stable housing.

  • In the Transitional Housing Program, single-parent families build life skills and establish stability while living in one of YWCA St. Paul’s three Transitional Housing sites for up to 24 months.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing combines safe, affordable housing with supportive services specifically tailored to help families who have experienced significant barriers that have resulted in long-term homelessness.

Seeking Housing Assistance?

If you are seeking housing for families in Ramsey County, your first step is to contact Coordinated Access to Housing and Shelter (CAHS) at 651-215-2262. They will work with you to do an intake assessment, determine next steps, and connect you to the appropriate community program based on your needs. You can also reach out to United Way 211 by dialing 211, toll free at 800-543-7709, or locally at 651-291-0211
