When inside our facility, face coverings are required for all employees (regardless of vaccination status) and fitness members and all others who are unvaccinated. We are committed to maintaining the safety and well-being of everyone visiting our facility, and highly recommended that everyone wear face coverings when inside our facility. To better help understand the impact racism has on our lives, YWCA St. Paul’s CEO Gaye Adams Massey moderated a virtual Town Hall on “Tackling Racism” with renowned community leaders Judge Pamela Alexander, James Burroughs, Justin Terrell and Dr. Yohuru Williams.  The compelling conversation sets the groundwork for community conversation, activism, and reform in a unique community forum, providing information on how we can each be a catalyst for change.

Sweet Potato comfort pie, ready for delivery

Helping Our Community One Pie At A Time

Rose McGee, owner of Sweet Potato Comfort Pies, and Bonnie Alton, owner of Great Harvest Bread Company in St. Paul, joined together to recruit volunteers to help bake and deliver 46 sweet potato pies to George Floyd Square, as George Floyd was 46 when he died. They then decided to make additional pies to give to families in YWCA St. Paul’s transitional housing program and to Ujamaa Place, an organization that provides holistic transformation for young African-American men experiencing inequity at the intersection of race and poverty.
