Stand with Us

In times of crisis, YWCA stands up to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. But we can’t do it alone. Stand with us and donate in support of the valuable services we provide for our community this May during two fundraising events: #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, and #GiveAtHomeMN running from May 1 to May 8.

Now is the time to help

YWCA St. Paul has been eliminating racism and empowering women for over 100 years. In the midst of the nation’s ongoing public health crisis, our important work continues. Our clients are some of the hardest-hit by this crisis, and our resources are challenged by emergent needs.

YWCA St. Paul is supporting our clients by making adjustments, like new virtual programs and updated case-management strategies. But we also are responding to these increased needs:

  • Food, clothing, and medical & hygiene supplies are difficult to find, especially in areas without shopping access.
  • WIC and SNAP benefits cannot cover all products, and participants find themselves in need of diapers, wipes, and other items. Retail and grocery store gift cards are, unfortunately, a crucial resource for many families in need.
  • With children at home during the week, extra meals at home create additional financial strain.
  • Household items (cookware, dishes, mattresses and bedding) are now more difficult to secure from our nonprofit partners for participants moving into residential housing.
  • Rental assistance becomes crucial as many working families are furloughed or unable to work regular hours.
  • Distance learning requires laptops, school supplies, and technology that not every family has.
As you can see, the needs of our participants are immediate and urgent – and we must ensure that everyone has the tools they need to weather this public health crisis safely. Your contribution directly funds these and other essential needs in our community.

Together we give

I truly appreciate all the support that I received from the Y in my time of need, my case worker brought me a care package when I needed it the most.

Your donation helps us provide urgently needed services and supplies, such as:

  • $50 – a case of diapers or baby formula
  • $100 – an air mattress with capacity pump
  • $150 – household items (pots & pans, dishes)
  • $250 – a week’s worth of groceries
  • $500 – rental assistance due to job loss
Thank you for giving back to your community and helping us continue to provide life-changing services.
