Please join us for our Equity & Justice Community Conversation on Wednesday, August 18 at 4:30 p.m. focusing on the deep impact COVID-19 has had on women. YWCA St. Paul CEO Gaye Adams Massey will be joined by experts in childcare and workforce development.
COVID-19 has had a disproportionately negative impact on women, particularly on mental health, workplace disruptions and pressures on daily life. These negative effects have birthed a new term, “She-cession,” coined to encompass the acute negative setbacks the pandemic has had on women, most notably the loss of work and family-related choices and resources. While some believe we are ready to move on, many women are still being adversely affected.
The panel will discuss the reasons behind the challenges women have encountered – and continue to tackle – because of the pandemic, along with uplifting and empowering strategies and solutions to help ease the burden and support women at home and in the workplace.
