Please bring your littles to help us make art and celebrate national STEAM Day on November 8th at YWCA St. Paul. YWCA St. Paul, along with Free Arts / Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Cities is hosting a kids’ faux stained-glass art class in support of STEAM Day.
In collaboration with an art project, Altitude, commissioned by Mayor Carter, this stained-glass art project reflects the piece created by The Milligan Studio which YWCA St. Paul has been selected to highlight and share with the St. Paul community. STEaM, which stands for Science, Technology Engineering, Art and Mathematics, is a national education initiative to support fun activities, exploration and academic rigor for kids in all of these very important areas that continue to see growing demand in the global job market.

- Who: Kids ages 4 – 10
- What: Free faux stained-glass art class for kids, celebrating the ability for all children to have access to tools that allow them to “dream the impossible, and have the support to make it so,” said Alan Milligan, Altitude project.
- COVID PRECAUTIONS: When inside our facility, face coverings are required for all children ages 2-11 and their guardians and employees (regardless of vaccination status). Face coverings are also required for fitness members and all others who are unvaccinated. We are committed to maintaining the safety and well-being of everyone visiting our facility, and highly recommends everyone – both vaccinated and unvaccinated – wear face coverings when inside our facility.

Free Arts leverages the power of mentoring by providing children with a safe place for artistic expression and self-discovery. Caring adult volunteers engage youth in art projects at partner sites throughout the Twin Cities. Through these supportive and consistent experiences, children are empowered to build trusting and positive relationships that can have a life-changing impact.
